Old Port of Mykonos
The Old port of Mykonos is located in the centre of the town within walking distance of the famous Little Venice. The port is filled with sea-facing bars and restaurants, while the nearby alleys have boutiques, jewellery stores and galleries. It offers magnificent views of the Cycladic sunsets and is the perfect location to watch the town transform into a nightlife centre after the sunset.
The Old port offers a small sandy beach which is an excellent spot for swimming. It can be discovered while taking a stroll through the picturesque streets of Chora. 15 years ago, it operated as the main port for ferries but has been recently used mainly by yachts and cruises for organized sailing trips and some fishermen. The ferries to the new port leave from the old port and are also used for boats visiting the famous archaeological sanctuary on Delos island.

Petros the Pelican
The pelican called Petros is not only another tourist attraction of Mykonos, he is a legacy that lives in the hearts of the people. The pelican has been officially declared the mascot of Mykonos. Among the harbour area along with the Alefkandra area and town, this cute creature is found wandering the streets. They are also spotted at the local taverns and Chora street.
In 1958, an injured pelican was rescued by a fisherman who brought him home and aided him. The pelican got used to humans and never left town and soon enough the locals named him “Petros”. Petros became famous among locals and tourists and there was even a lawsuit between Tinos (neighbouring island) and Mykonos after the pelican suddenly disappeared and was seen in Tinos. The pelican did come back to his home safely after many campaigns by the locals of Mykonos. The original Pelican died in 1985. The legacy still lives with three new pelicans namely Petros, Nikolas and Irini that live on the island and roam freely around the island. The locals and tourists can’t get enough of these amazing creatures. The Pelicans are friendly and would love to be petted, given a treat and photographed. Mykonos trip is not complete without a picture with these beautiful creatures. Their favourite hangout spots include - Nikos Taverna, Little Venice, Mykonos Town Waterfront, and Paraportiani Square.

Platys Gialos
The Platys Gialos is a lively village, known for having one of the most extensive beaches in Mykonos. The place's beauty, good food, and famous white wine make it a must-visit. Located 5 km southeast of Mykonos, it is a popular tourist spot. Surrounded by a rocky uphill lookout and vast stretch of land, the place has fantastic sunset spots.
The Platys Gialos beach with crystalline blue water and golden sand adds fun. It is known for water sports like yacht cruises, parasailing, swimming, fishing, boating and other activities. The hills surrounding the village are known for their trails. You could take a short hike to the neighbouring beach of Agia Anna. Platys Gialos does not have any banks or ATMs, so carrying cash is advisable. It can be reached by bus, car or Mykonos water taxi services.

Praga beach
Praga beach is one of the popular beaches in Mykonos because of its trendy beach clubs and good hotels along the coast. Located south of the island, it offers various water sports and is perfect for swimming. The beach has a long beautiful stretch of land which is a combination of two sandy beaches separated by a headland. The left and middle sections of the beach are organized with taverns, sunbeds and parasols for rent with bars close by. The right side of the beach is calmer and empty and allows nude sunbathing and is LGBT-friendly.
Praga Beach is also the first beach in the south to allow nude sunbathing (on the right side). The beach creates a holiday atmosphere with gorgeous summer weather and endless fun. When needing a change, head to Paradise beach, which is within walking distance.

Rarity Gallery
Rarity Gallery is an art gallery showcasing international contemporary art and artists from around the world. It is located in Kalogera street in Mykonos. The gallery is set within an early 20th Mykonian Manor house divided into five rooms, each describing a distinct narrative feature of art. A beautiful collection of paintings, sculptures, photography and visual art can be found here.
It is the first gallery in Greece to showcase globally contemporary art and artisans. The Gallery conducts five solo exhibitions every year. It was founded by two curators to provide an aesthetic experience honouring art and the artist's reputation.

Super Paradise Beach
Just a 20-minute ride from the city, the most iconic beach of Mykonos, Paradise Beach, is essentially the reason for the island's popularity. There are sunbeds and canopies everywhere, and the summertime parties usually begin in the late afternoon and go until dawn. This beach is for you if you want to enjoy a beach party. Paraga Beach is located directly up the hill on the right when facing the sea.
Tourliani Monastery
The Tourliani Monastery is a 16th-century monastery in Mykonos famous for its impressive Cycladic architecture. Located in Ano Mera, it is 8 Km from Chora. People visit the monastery for the beautiful views of the surrounding. The church's interiors are breathtaking, with a view of the altar screen, also known as iconostasis, made by Florentine artists in 1775.
An imposing wall surrounds the exterior of the the Tourliani Monastery and, in the middle is a spectacular view of the white-washed walls of the church contrasted with a red dome. The marble floors of the monastery go back to the 1600s, with an ornate marble foundation in the yard outside the church. The wood-carved screen depicts scenes from the New Testament, icons of saints, apostles, Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Byzantine frescoes, crystal chandeliers, a gilded pulpit, and carved marble and wood are also fascinating interiors in the church.

Tria Pigadia
Tria Pigadia, which translates to three wells, is located in the middle of the main town of Chora. The three wells are identical and in a formation of a straight row. They were built in 1722 as the only means to provide water to the town. They were dug into the sand at only 5-6 meters as the water was more accessible at that level. After 1958, they were no longer used and are not functional today.
There are two legends that revolve around the well. The first belief says that anyone who drinks the water from all three wells will never leave Mykonos. The other belief says that a female bachelor will get married if she drinks water from the wells.
