Railway Museum
Built in 1971, the world famous Nairobi Railway Museum is a spectacular landmark promising to protect and showcase the precious antique records of the railways of East Africa. The museum has many galleries displaying the age old collections of local trains.
The vast collection is housed in an old building near the railway station of the city. All the major relics of the Eastern African Railway has been well recorded here. There are small and large simulations of trains, tracks, and even ships, which educates the travellers about how the railways originated and developed to be what it is today. . Fourteen Falls
Fourteen Falls is a spectacular waterfall located just outside the Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park in Nairobi. The view of the falls is stunning, especially with the mountain acting as a backdrop. Photography, bird and animal watching, fishing and picnics are popular here. You can also take a boat ride to the other side of the river to get a different perspective on the Falls.
It is recommended to hire a guide to fully explore the Falls as you may not be able to explore all of the areas alone, and the land may be treacherous in some parts. The Blue Post Hotel Restaurant overlooks the Falls and provides a unique and stunning viewpoint.

African Heritage House
A National Monument and museum, the African Heritage House is situated in front of the Nairobi National Park in Mlolongo. Within the house are artefacts, artworks, jewellery, textiles, traditional pottery, weapons, antiques, ceremonial clothes and more. It is open for tours, lunches or dinners and overnight stays.
The building’s structure was inspired mainly by Mali’s Great Mosque of Djenne and Morocco’s mud palaces. It was built in the late 1900s by Alan Donovan to preserve African architectural designs that have been forgotten. The rooms mainly represent different African regions, including Morocco, the East African coast, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Lamu etc. Authentic African food like Swahili coconut rice and Ghana’s groundnut stew is served here. A pool house on the premises contains sculptures by various African artists. The establishment is surrounded by greenery, and numerous birds and animals like ostriches, gazelles, giraffes etc. can be seen around.

Central Park Nairobi
The Central Park of Nairobi is a public park situated behind Nairobi Serena Hotel and adjacent to the famous Uhuru Park. Nyayo monument, dedicated to Kenya’s second president, Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, is a major landmark within the park for tourists and photographers. It is also a popular picnic spot and boasts a children’s playground.
Fedha Valley Arcade Shopping Mall
Fedha Arcade, located on Gitanga Road, is one of the most popular shopping malls in Nairobi. It has a selection of everything from food and groceries to clothing items and other accessories. The boulangerie, pastry shops and wine selection at Fedha Valley Arcade Shopping Mall are particularly popular.
Hells Gate National Park
Hell’s Gate National Park is located south of Lake Naivasha, northwest of Nairobi. It is excellent for walking, hiking, cycling, rock climbing and motorcycling. Bird watching is also popular here since it houses over 100 bird species. Its breathtaking landscape boasts of two extinct volcanoes, Hobley’s and Olkaria.
The park’s diverse wildlife consists of African buffaloes, lions, Augur buzzards, Verreaux’s eagles and hyenas. It also houses the Hell’s Gate Gorge and red cliffs which have two volcanic plugs Fischer's Tower and Central Tower. Close to the Central Tower is a small gorge which leads to hot springs. It is a great location for photography. The Olkaria Geothermal Station and The Mervyn Carnelley Raptor Hide are situated within the park. One can also learn about the Maasai tribe at the Maasai Cultural Center. Visitors can stay at one of its three campsites (Oldubai, Endachata, Naiburta) or spend some relaxing time at its health spa.

Ivory Burning Site and Picnic Area
Ivory Burning Site & Picnic Area is a historic landmark located just inside the Nairobi National Park within walking distance from the Nagolomon reservoir. It is a monument established to mark president Daniel Arap Moi’s burning of 11 tonnes of seized ivory in 1989 as an act of solidarity for wildlife conservation. It is also a popular picnic site. Carrying binoculars is recommended for game viewing and bird watching.
Jamia Mosque Nairobi
The Jamia Mosque is the most important mosque in Kenya, located between Banda Street and Kigali Street in Nairobi. It dates to the beginning of the 20th century and boasts beautiful Arabic Islamic architecture.
The Jamia Mosque is predominantly made of white marble, with many surfaces featuring inscriptions from the holy Quran. Other notable architectural elements of the structure include twin minarets, a tower, a patio and three silver domes. Along one side of the mosque is a line of shops, and within its compound are a library, a multi-purpose hall and a training institute for learning Arabic, cloth making and computing.

Karura Forest
The urban gazetted Karura forest is located in Nairobi, Kenya, and is abundant with natural beauty and resources. It is divided into three parts by Limuru and Kiambu roads. The forest has a natural trail running up to 50 km that facilitates visitors to walk, run, and bike around the forest. One can also rent a trail bike.
The forest is home to two very beautiful waterfalls, the Karura waterfall, and the Ruaka waterfall. Other attractions include a bamboo forest and Mau Mau caves. The forest is also a great choice for picnics and other outings. There are several picnic spots in the forest, namely Amani, Kfeet, Ruaka, Sigiria, and Karura garden. This forest runs upto 2,570 acres, and is home to a number of wildlife animals, including a couple of species of monkeys, porcupines, bushbacks, and bushpigs amongst others. Indegenous plants like Brachyleana huillensis, Olea europaea, Warburgia ugandensis, and others are also found in this vast forest. One can opt to go on an eco tour in this forest, which includes birdings, animal sightings, and plant and vegetation tours, amongst others.

Kazuri Beads Factory
The Kazuri Beads Factory is an artisan workshop in Mbagathi Ridge in Nairobi. The establishment is famous for making ceramic beads, jewellery and pottery. Guided tours include observing the women's work and visiting the different sections of the factory-like the clay processing area, pottery room, storage facilities etc.
The Kazuri Beads Factory is known for its workforce of over 300 women from villages around the city. These women make jewellery, cups, plates, vases etc., by hand and paint them in bright colours to represent the culture of Kenya. The establishment dates back to 1975. One can also try their hand at pottery under an employee's guidance and buy some items from the store on the premises.
