Bhuvanagiri Fort
A majestic structure that reflects the relics of the 12th century is a Fort of Bhuvanagiri or Bhongir constructed by Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya, a Chalukya ruler. Sprawling over an area of 40 acres, this fort is nestled atop of a hill nearly 500 feet above the ground level.
Renowned for its impressive architecture and geometric structure, the fort is oval-shaped and comprises of two entry points. In fact, the fort is also bastioned with fosse which makes it completely impregnable. Further, the fort also features underground chambers, secret places for weapons, trap doors and stables. Two ponds and some deep wells are also found within the premises of the fort. Situated to the entrance of the fort is an idol of Sardar Sarvai Panappa, who served as the onetime ruler of this fort as well as the monarch of Goud community. To reach this amazing structure, tourists can either take the stairway or trek along the steep path.

Kolanpaku Jain Temple
A popular Jain shrine, Kolanpaku Jain Temple or Sri Shwethambar Jain Mandir is located in Kolanpaku Village close to an ancient town of Aleru Mandal. The temple features the idol of three Jain Tirthankaras namely Lord Mahaveera, Lord Neminath and Lord Adinath.
Besides these the temple also houses 21 other idols of Theerthankaras. Crafted out of red sandstone and pillars made out of white marble, the structure of the temple was renovated about 20 years aback by Jain Communities of Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat. It is sprawling across the area of 1 acre while reaming 19 acres is used for guest houses and Dharamshala.

Kunda Satyanarayana Kala Dhamam (Surendrapuri)
Surendrapuri is a center of great interest for those into mythology. This theme park spanning across 3km is known as the Mythological Awareness Center. Located near Yadagirigutta, the place was created by Kunda Satyanarayana to commemorate the memory of his son Surendra.
Surendrapuri aims to promote interest in Indian mythology. The whole park is ornamented with sculptures and carvings that showcase the episodes of the Bhagavatha, Ramayana, Mahabharata and other Puranas. It has recreated a mini-world of every important mythological event, temple and the seven portals of the Vishnulok. Mattapalli
Mattapalli or Mattampalli, a small quaint village situated on the banks of River Krishna is mainly renowned for its Narasimha Swami Temple. Counted as one of the Pancha Narasimha Kshetras out of total five, this beautiful temple is dedicated to Sri Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha Swami, Sri Chenchu Lakshmi Thaayar and Sri Rajya Lakshmi Thaayar.

Nandikonda
A small village of great religious as well as archeological significance, Nandikonda is nestled along the banks of River Krishna near Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. Vijayapuri Township, the village was once the home to Ikshvaku Dynasty.
However, today nandikonda is a site of several important Buddhist excavations and structure such as pillared halls, monasteries etc. that were unearthed during the establishment of the town.
Panagal (Panagallu)
Panagal is another important village in Nalgonda District located just 3 km from the main city and is known for its historic importance. The village in 11th century AD serves as the capital of Kakatiya Dynasty, however today it is famed as a highly religious place.
The place owes its fame to once again Kakatiya Dynasty who established numerous temples in the village. Adorned with 66 pillars and a huge Nandi sculpture right in front of central mandapa, there are two most sought after Shiva temples in the village namely the Chaya Someswara Swamy Temple and Pachala Someswara Temple. The Chaya Someswara Swami temple features pillars detailed with intricate sculptures displaying episodes from Mahabharata and Ramayana. One will also witness several other sculptures of Hindu Gods and Goddesses dating back to 1st century AD to the Ikshvaku Dynasty.

Phanigiri Buddhist Site
Regarded as most popular Buddhist site in the country, Phanigiri is situated about 52 km from Nalgonda town. The place comprises of a Buddhist complex which is adorned with a massive Stupa along with two apsidal halls with stupas in it.
Two large footprints in the complex are believed to belong to Lord Buddha. The place also houses three viharas which were once served as the dwelling for the Buddhist monks. The viharas lies on the hilltop called Serpent's Hood Hill deriving its name probably from its shape.
