Someshwar Temple

Located in the suburbs on the banks of River Godavari, Someshwar temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Nashik. The soothing greenery around gives the temple a beautiful ambience. There is an attached boating club by the river and a children's park for recreation. While visiting the temple, devotees can pay respect to Lord Hanuman as well.

Located in Mangi-Tungi near Nashik in Maharashtra, Statue of Ahimsa is the tallest Jain statue in the world. The sculpture depicts the first Jain Tirthankara Rishabhanatha and is carved out of a single rock in the Mangi-Tungi hills which is considered auspicious by the Jains.

The Sula Vineyards is a famous winery that is located in Nashik, 180 kilometres to the northeast of Mumbai and is renowned for its varieties of grape wines, such as Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Zinfandel. Sundarnarayan temple near the Ahilyabai Holkar Bridge in Nashik is a shrine of Lord Vishnu. The legend goes that being cursed by the enraged wife of a sage, Vishnu turned charcoal black and regained his beautiful form of Sundarnarayanan bathing in the waters of Godavari here. The temple attracts a large crowd on the day of spring equinox, when the sun's rays fall directly on the idols of Vishnu, Lakshmi and Saraswati.

Swami Samarth Ashram is a place of spirituality, close to the Trimbakeshwar Temple in Nashik. The ashram is dedicated to the 19th century saint Swami Samarth, who lived in Maharashtra and effected the lives of the people with his wisdom and preachings. The temple still upholds the old traditions and rituals catering to his followers. The ashram also offers a spectacular view of the Sahyadri range.

Trimbakeshwar Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. Located in Trimbak, 28 kilometres from Nashik city, this Shaiva temple is found at the foot of Brahmagiri Hills. Established by the Maratha ruler, Peshwa Nana Saheb in the 18th century, the temple is mentioned in the powerful Mrityunjaya Mantra that bestows immortality and longevity. Designed in classic architecture, the temple premises also cites the Kusavarta or Kunda which is said to be the source of river Godavari. The fascinating feature of the Jyotirlinga is its three faces symbolizing Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra. Only male devotees are allowed in the core area or 'garbhgriha' of the temple.
