A picturesque village lying in the vicinity of Nelliyampathy about 25 km away, Nemmara is bifurcated in to tow parts namely Nemmara and Vallangi. The main attraction of the village is Vela Festival or Nemmara-Vallangi Vela festival.
Trissur Pooram is another popular event celebrated in the area post rice harvesting.
Padagiri
A popular picnic spot among locals as well as tourists, Padagiri is believed to be the tallest peak of Nelliyampathy Hills. Fondly referred to as Nellikota, it stands at an altitude of 1500 m above the sea level.
The most striking feature of the peak is the gorgeous teak plantation.
Palagapandi Estate
Palagapandi Estate is the most popular tourist attraction in this picturesque hill town. The estate houses a charming old Bungalow established under the British rule.
Today, the estate is roofed with lovely plantations of coffee, tea and cardamom.
Pothundi Reservoir
An ancient spot believed to be created in 19th century; the main purpose of Pothundi Reservoir was irrigation. Situated in a village of Palakkad District about 18 km from Nelliyampathy, the reservoir is across Padippuzha River and Meenchadyppuzha River, the distributaries of River Ayalar.
Created without any concrete base and cement mixture, today this place is a major source of drinking water in the area. Apart from that, the reservoir is also a popular picnic spot with the provision of boating as well.
