One of the most popular sites in Phuentsholing, Amo Chhu Breeding Center is the best place to visit if you have a hunger to see and explore wildlife. The crocodile breeding centre aimed at increasing the number of different species of crocodiles and alligators. The sight of crocodiles, ghariyaals, alligators makes you awestruck. Karbandi Monastery

Karbandi Monastery

Karbandi is one of the oldest Monasteries in Bhutan. Also known as Karbandi Goemba, it is situated 400 metres above an astonishing valley surrounded by coniferous trees. Built by Ashi Phuntsho Choedron, the Royal Grandmother n 1967It is a religious shrine believed to bless infertile couples with children. After an Indian pilgrim couple visited the place to pray for a child, their prayers were answered. It has a garden adorned with colourful prayer flags. The Karbandi Monastery also has four large statues of Buddhist deities, and apart from this, the Monastery offers a breathtaking view of Phuentsholing valley. Best time to visit the place is late afternoons - evenings as the sunset is mesmerising from the viewpoint. Read More

Torsa River Side, Amo Chhu

The Torsa River rises from Chumba Valley in China which flows through Bhutan where it's known as the Amo Chhu. If you long for a peaceful walk, away from pollution, traffic and chaos, then Torsa River Side is the perfect place to spend your evening. The River flows past the border towns Phuentsholing and Jaigaon before flowing into North of West Bengal. Around 15-20 minutes away, there are the Torsa Tea Gardens where you can see the tea plantation also. It is a great place for photography and photoshoot lovers must visit this serene spot. Zangto Pelri Lhakhang

Zangto Pelri Lhakhang

Situated at the centre of Phuentsholing, Zangto Pelri is a Buddhist Monastery and an exquisite example of ancient architecture of Bhutan. Built-in 1990 by Dasho Aku Tongmi, who also composed the National Anthem of Bhutan, this beautiful structure houses several statues of Buddhist Gurus, many of which are as high as 4 metres. Zangto Pelri Lhakhang houses the eight life-size idols of different manifestations of Guru Rinpoche. On the topmost floor, a beautiful statue of Amitabha Buddha is placed. There is a nice park upfront which has a huge ball fountain, a small pond and prayer wheels.  Flaunting Bhutanese craftsmanship, this three-storied monastery is known for its fascinating paintings and attractive statues.
