Surin beach, which once used to be rowed with beach clubs and restaurants, is now more beautiful and natural, with many palm trees and parking space. Swimming would be an excellent option during the high season, but the sea can be rough in the low season.

Thai Hua Museum
Thai Hua Museum on Krabi Road in Old Phuket Town is a beautiful and well-maintained Sino-Portuguese building dating back to 1917. This recently renovated building was once a Chinese-language school called ‘Phuket Huabun School’, ‘Ratjunhua School’ and finally Thai Hua School’. Today this colonial building is a museum and exhibition space that is also occasionally used as a function hall.
The Thai Hua Museum is run by the Lok Xian Kok or Kusonsongkhroh Foundation which is a charitable organization set up during the mining era in Phuket. With the original plan of helping fellow immigrants, a school was established for Chinese immigrant children so that they could study in a more comfortable language. The Thai Hua Museum won an award in the category of constitutional and public buildings by the Siam Architect Association under the King’s patronage in 2008. The award celebrated its outstanding role in conserving architectural arts.

Thalang National Museum
The small Thalang National Museum is an ideal place to spend to learn a little about the rich Thai history. The museum houses prehistoric crafts, maps, sculptures as well as old photos showing battle scenes, and the Phuket of a couple of centuries ago. There are also some Chinese figurines and deities on display here.
Thavorn Hotel and Museum
The Thavorn Hotel and Museum is a quirky little establishment, which stores old junk that has outgrown their use and discarded by the hotel over the years. These items range from ancient typewriters and dusty fridges, to even a bizarre collection of zippers and buttons! It is a fun place to spend an afternoon poking around through this random assortment of objects, and casting back your mind to imagine a time and place in which they were once used.

Ton Sai Waterfall
Walk through winding overgrown trails within the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park, discovering different varieties of plants and lichen on your way to the Ton Sai Waterfalls. You might even get to see some pretty spotted deer and gibbon along the way. The small waterfall is a 2km walk within the park, and is thus ideal for a little nature stroll.
