Rajgad Fort
Fortresses have been speaking of the grandeur of our country for several years. Situated near Pune, Rajgad fort is surrounded by Torna, Sinhgad and Purandar forts. It is symbolic of the victories and battles fought by the Maratha army and stands to glorify the feats of- famous Indian ruler, Chhatrapati Shivaji. The fort was built during the reign of Maratha rule and was earlier called Murumbdev. It was only when Chhatrapati Shivaji shifted his capital to Rajgad that he renovated and named this fort. Located approximately 60 km to the south-west of Pune, it is a magnificent monument. For all those who admire history, the Rajgad Fort is a must visit. It is also a popular trekking destination and is often combined with Torna Fort.

Rajgad Trek
Rajgad trek is a moderate level trek that begins at the Gunjavane Village in Pune District and ends at the Rajgad Fort. It is a favourite trekking trail among intermediate level trekkers who are looking for a great location to satisfy their urge for the thrill. The climb is through a hill called Murum Dev Dongar in the Sahyadri Mountain Range. The fort is located over 1400 metres above sea level amidst scenic surroundings of the Western Ghats of India. This provides for a beautiful and thrilling terrain for the adventure activity.
The most preferred time for a Rajgad Trek is during the monsoon and the winter seasons. The weather remains cool and pleasant all through the day and allows adventure seekers to complete the hike. Some areas of the hill have railings to aid the hike. However, trekkers need to be aware of the tricky, slippery and dangerous parts of the terrain to be careful during their climb, especially during the monsoon season. Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park
Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park is a famous tourist and recreational attraction in Pune. The zoo expands over an area of 130 acres. The Central Zoo Authority thus identifies the Zoological Park as a considerably large Zoo. Its location near the Katraj Lake makes it a preferred attraction for picnics and outings. It is, therefore, flocked by the locals, especially the animal and nature lovers, at least every weekend. The Zoo is also considered an educational attraction as people get to learn more about the animals in the Zoo and also spend quality time with their dear ones.
Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park has been home to various species of animals for quite some time. Here, they are provided an environment as close as possible to their natural environment and they are taken care of till they live there. To ease the maintenance, the Zoological Park has been divided into four section - the Katraj Lake, the Zoo, an Animal Orphanage and the Snake Park. At present, over 100 personnel are involved in maintaining the Zoo that houses a total of 362 animals including endangered species. Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute
Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute was initiated by Yogacharya B. K. S. Iyengar who dedicated the institute to his beloved wife, Smt. Ramamani Iyengar. The institute was established in 1975. B. K. S. Iyengar is one of the directors of the institute. The co-directors are Geeta S Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar, his children. Rohida Trek
Rohida, or Vichitragad as it is also known, is a Fort nearest to Pune, a destination which is a must on every trekker's to-do list. The windy, beautiful and spectacular fort is located in the Western Ghats near Bhor Village around 61km away from the city of Pune. The fort was built during the Yadava rule and was one of the 23 forts handed over by Marathas to the Mughals in the Treaty of Purandar. The base village of the trek is Bajarwadi, around 7km away from Bhor. Stay and food arrangements can be found at Bajarwadi and Khanapur villages. You can also stay at the top of the fort at Rohidmalla.
The trek is rather easy, which gives you all the more opportunity to take in and lose yourself in all the beauty that this hill has to offer. Satisfy the nature lover, adventure junkie and history enthusiast in yourself all at once with a visit to the amazing Rohida Fort. There are three gates towards the entrance of the fort. The second gate is identified by the rock-cut water cistern from which water can also be used for drinking purposes.

Saras Baug
Saras Baug is a popular attraction in Pune which was initially a lake at the foothills of Parvati. As the water of the lake dried up, the exposed land was developed into a park and was named Saras Baug. The attraction expands over an area 25 acres and also has a temple in the centre. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Ganesh and because it was built in the middle of a lake, it is also called Talyatla Ganpati. The baug and the temple also have some historical significance as they were built during the time of the Peshwa. The temple, in particular, has been an important venue for several historical events too.
At Saras Baug, one can explore the lush green lawns which are often trimmed and well-maintained. People can also walk across the entire park through well-paved pathways. They can hang out at all the sections of the garden kept open for the public as long as they keep the surroundings clean. It, therefore, has a very relaxed sort of an ambience that draws locals in large numbers. The attraction is located at the foothills of Parvati, so, travellers can cover these two attractions in just a few hours. The park also has a small museum dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Saras Baug used to have a zoo also called the Peshwe Park which has been relocated now.

Sarasbaug Ganpati Temple
Sarasbaug Ganapati Temple is a shrine for Siddhi Vinakayak Ganesh, as established by the Maratha ruler Shrimant Sawai Madhavrao Peshwa, in 1784. The temple derives its name from the island where it is situated, called Sarasbaug, named by its creator, Madhavrao's predecessor, Nanasaheb Peshwa. Located at the foot of Parvati Hills, the lake around the temple is said to be the venue of secret meetings held by the Peshwas during boat rides.
