Saqr Park
Located in the Keiran area of Ras Al Khaimah, Saqr Park is a children's favourite. For adults, the park also houses a variety of options to unwind with such as a table tennis court, electronic games hall, a rollercoaster, the boating area, Bid splash ride, shops and electronic cars. It is the first amusement park in the area and features a toy train which takes visitors around the park.
Shimal
Shimal is a small hamlet of great historic significance and site of myriad ofpre-Islamic tombs.
Situated north of the Ras Al Khaimah city, Shimal is a small rustic village cuddled near the Hajar Mountains. The place holds agreat archaeological importance and is home to few hundred pre-Islamic tombs. The records and historical findings also hold proof of settlement in the area from around 2000-1300 BC. Several items such as pottery, weapons crafted of bronze and copper, stone vessels and beads were unearthed while several excavations. However, the greatest discovery in the area is considered to be of finding huge circular tomb from Umm al-Nar period. One can also see Husn al-Shimal Fort from small Islamic era being perched high above on the rocky outcrop. The place is a must visit for those who appreciate history.
