Filerimos Monastery
The Monastery of Panagia Filerimos is located on Filerimos Hill in Ialyssos. It was built by the Knights of Saint John in the 15th century.
The arena is also an archaeological site, as the acropolis of Ialyssos once stood here. Inside the monastery, you will observe the splendid Byzantine architecture and see the old Byzantine paintings.
Around Filerimos Klooster, are the ruins of a baptistery which is in the shape of a cross, the remains of Ancient Ialyssos and an underground church of Saint George from the 14th century AD. There is a path from the monastery that leads to Golgothas. Above the path, at the top of the hill is the huge and iconic cross with engravings of the Passions of Christ.

Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes
Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, better known as Kastello, is a medieval castle that is a brilliant example of Gothic architecture in Greece. The site previously functioned as a Byzantine palace, headquarters, and fortress. When inside, you will discover the detailed mosaics decorated on the ceilings and walls. There is a beautiful mosaic design of Medusa as well.
