The old city of Ad Diriyah is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Saudi Arabia known for its rich cultural history. It is located on the northwestern outskirts of Riyadh and comprises different districts, each offering exotic attractions. Diriyah is famous for its rich history, culture, unique art, and traditional mud-brick buildings that transport you back in time. Diriyah was the old home of Saudi Royal family. The ruins of the old city of Diriyah lay on either side of the narrow valley known as Wadi Hanifa, which continues southwards through Riyadh and beyond. Consisting almost entirely of mud-brick structures, the ruins are divided into three districts, Ghusaibah, Bujairi, and Turaif, set on top of hills overlooking the valley. Turaif Quarter: The main quarter of AdÍDiriyah, where the Al Saud house is situated. The area is located on the South Western mountain, surrounded by a wall overlooking all other quarters. Ghusaiba Quarter: This was the first Saudi capital up to 1683. Bujairy Quarter: Located on the Eastern bank of Wadi Hanifa. here youÍll find the mosque, a school, home of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab and the newly opened Diriyah gateway.The Al Bujairi heritage park boasts traditional food stalls, a vibrant market, rides, and art workshops. The iconic Salwa Palace was the first residence of the Founder of the Suadi state and was built in the Najdi architectural style. The Palace of Saad is famous for its courtyard, which was used as a stable. At-Turaif Bath House and Imam Mohammad bin Saud Mosque are unique sites in the Turaif district. Authorities have restored several of the palaces and have converted them into museums. Mosim Park is home to the football team Mosim FC. Diriyah also hosts the Diriyah ePrix, a Formula E race championship. Titled the birthplace of the first Saudi state, it was the original home of the Saudi royal family. Kingdom Centre is a 41-storey building in Riyadh housing the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh and apartments. There is a 56 m (184 ft) skybridge atop the skyscraper. The Sky bridge is one of the most futuristic attractions in Riyadh. It is a curved bridge suspended 300 metres above the city with floor-to-ceiling glass panels, which provide an unobstructed view of the Riyadh skyline. Along with the exquisite views, enjoy a luxury shopping experience at the high-end shops, boutiques, and upscale jewellery stores at the Kingdom Centre. You can also catch up on a movie at the opulent Vox cinemas. There’s a food court at the basement level, and the Al Masaa Café, which is the world’s biggest coffee shop, is located right across the street. The sky bridge offers a magnificent day view and an equally mesmerising starry night view. The Masmak Fort, also known as the Masmak Fortress or Masmak Palace, is a historical landmark in Riyadh. The 150-year-old fortress has now been converted into a museum which displays early 20th-century photographs, artwork, and multimedia presentations. Travellers can also see a documentary that depicts the royal family regaining control of the citadel. Masmak is an Arabic word for a tall, strong building with thick walls. True to its name, the Fort is both historically and architecturally magnificent. Other attractions include the expansive courtyard outside the fortress. Tourists can observe the city from the four 18m high watchtowers. Several freshwater wells and early 20th-century historical artworks are also present. A vibrant Saudi market is next to the museum, Souq Al Zal. It is renowned for its exquisite local handicrafts, food, clothes, gold, souvenirs, and jewellery. The museum encloses the Murabba Palace and was actually a former composite of the palace, inaugurated by King Fahd, in 1999 to mark the hundredth year of the Emirate of Riyadh. Zoo only opens at 1pm which is the hottest part of the day and closes at 6.30pm. The zoo is large and not overcrowded at all. This zoo has Elephants, Giraffes, Monkeys, Camles etc. but one can't find lion or tiger in the zoo. They also have a train ride if one is tired to see the zoo by foot. Lots of kiosks are available inside.

Al Nahda Park of Riyadh is the longest park in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is the best spot for families and friends to unwind and an ideal place for exercising, jogging or cycling.
