Kaunghmudaw Paya, also known as Yaza Mani Sula Kaunghmudaw, is a significant stupa located in Sagaing, Myanmar. This enormous dome-shaped pagoda was constructed during the reign of King Thalun in 1636 AD. It's renowned for its distinctive egg-shaped design, standing out from the typical bell-shaped Burmese pagodas. The pagoda is an important pilgrimage site and holds immense cultural and historical significance.

The architecture of Kaunghmudaw Paya is a marvel of design and craftsmanship. The pagoda rises to a height of 46 meters (151 feet), with the base circumference measuring approximately 274 meters (900 feet). The stupa's unique egg-like shape is believed to represent the breast of a woman, symbolizing fertility and prosperity. The exterior is whitewashed and gilded with gold in certain parts, especially around the hti (umbrella or crown) at the top. Surrounding the pagoda are numerous smaller shrines and temples, each adorned with intricate carvings and traditional Burmese architectural features.
