Salalah is home to many tombs and shrines that are of great significance to the Islamic religion. Located among the hills and valleys of Dhofar in Salalah lies the tomb of Prophet Hud (PBUH) a revered Islamic figure who as history recollects was sent to preach redemption to the ancient city of Aad. The mausoleum is 3 metres long and 1.5 metres high. The prophet is cited nearly seven times in the Holy book of Quran. Situated in an almost bizarre location in Gogub Salalah, the Tomb of Prophet Hud could be an attraction for only mountaineers or hikers. It is located in the Dhofar mountains, in between hills, valleys and three water springs which are known as Hiryeh, Afileh, and Itham.
