The Cartoon Art Museum is located at the edge of Fisherman’s Wharf, close to Ghirardelli Square. The museum is a creative cartoon art and caricature museum with works showcased by local and international artists. It is an aesthetic brick building with ample space for exhibits and art shows. The museum has an engaging collection of cartoon art ranging from comic strips, comic book pages, anime and digital cartoon art. The Cartoon Art Museum consists of a reading room, a screening area or animation cels, a large gallery for exhibits, a museum store and an education center. They have some conventional pieces on display from the famous Marvel comics, Scooby-Doo, DC comics, etc. by renowned cartoonists like James Dickie, Alex Anderson and Graham Nash. The museum also accommodates several politically aware cartoon art and animation from different artists. It conducts several cartooning workshops and educational programs for kids and the public to unleash their imagination and draw cartoons to create animation.The store has a variety of comic strips and books, apparel, sketchbooks and other stationery. Cascade Falls rests inside Marin County’s Cascade Canyon Open Space Preserve. Near Downtown Fairfax, the hike to the moderately-sized waterfalls starts at the Cascade Canyon trailhead. The trailhead is present in the Cascade Drive which fords the Cascade Creek before leading to the top of the falls with great views of Cascade Lake and Lake Tahoe.  The CCOSP has a number of routes for hiking to the waterfalls, some strenuous and lengthy, some quiet and tranquil and some are animated with the energy of mountain-bikers and children. The frequently-taken route is the Bayview Trailhead present on the back side of Bayview Campground. It is a 1.5 miles round trip from the Bayview Campground to the top of the falls present at the elevation of 250 feet.The trailhead welcomes dogs on leashes and bikers and equestrians except on some of the challenging fire roads. Bikers often strutted around on the Pine Mountain Tunnel Road, which was earlier prohibited for public usage as it traversed the boundaries with private properties. The hiking strolls are a pleasant experience given the plethora of vegetation - Coast Oak, Madrones, California Bay, Buckeye wood along with an impressive selection of wildflowers including milkmaids, hound’s tongues, shooting stars, mission bells and native ferns and flowers such as Iris, gooseberry and deciduous native creambush. Castle Rock Falls reside within the namesake State Park in Santa Cruz County, California. Castle Rock State Park is famous for its peculiar rock formations, abundant greenery including coastal redwoods and madrones forests. Cataract Falls resides in the Mt Tamalpais Watershed near San Rafael in Marin County, California. A collection of nine separate falls, they start streaming near Laurel Dell and join the Alpine Lake eventually. The hike to the Carson Falls start at the signed trailhead running alongside the south-western arm of Alpine Lake, which would direct towards a fork, at which point continue right and begin the ascent. The upwards path would encounter a wooden pedestrian bridge over Cataract Creek to its eastern side. The farther upwards trail leads to another fork directing to the Laurel Dell Picnic Area. At this fork, head right and take the final climb to the top of the falls while passing by a fenced lookout point. Alongside Kent trail, High Marsh trail, and Helen Market trail, the Cataract trail is part of the famous loop trail near Fairfax, California, with the total length around 12.4 kilometres. The Laurel Dell Picnic Area, designed with picnic tables and restrooms, is an ideal place to sit back, relax and reinvigorate oneself with energy snack bars. Recommended time to visit the waterfalls is on foggy days after monsoon, and only leashed dogs are allowed on the trail. Read More

Located at Yerba Buena Garden Park, the Children’s Creativity Museum is a practical experience of music, art and technology for kids aged between two and twelve. However there are warnings about high current in the area, so we suggest you don’t wander too deep into the water and stick to shallow areas.
