National Folk Museum of Korea
The museum uses replicas of objects used throughout history to recreate the lives of the Korean people over the centuries.
The museum was established in 1945 and has moved about a couple of times before finally opening on it's current site in 1993.
The replica collection of the museum is actually quite expansive, with almost 100,000 artefacts, separated into three main exhibition halls. The History of Korean People uses objects and tools to depict the everyday lives of Koreans from pre-historic times to the end of the Joseon Dynasty. The Korean Way of Life depicts lives of Korean villagers in ancient times. The last exhibition is the Life Cycle of the Koreans, which lays emphasis on the Confucianism in Korean literature and how the tradition has given birth to modern customs.
The museum provides an interesting insight into the lives and culture of the Koreans.

National Museum of Korea
The largest museum in Korea, which is dedicated to display the history of the country in various fields like culture, art, history and archaeology.
National Museum of Korea carries the heritage of Korea from ancient times to modern day. It has a collection of over 300,000 items, spread over three floors and the ground and many different exhibitions. While the ground floor contains items related to natural history, such as indigenous plants, many parks and ponds as well the first floor represents the ancient times, with exhibitions dating as far back as the Palaeolithic Era (around 2 million years ago!) to the Silla era which started in the 7th century in Korea. The second floor has the Calligraphy and Painting Gallery and the Donation Gallery. Both of these are further divided into many sections and have around 1900 pieces of art combined. The third floor is home to the Sculpture and Crafts Gallery and the Asian Arts Gallery.
What's interesting is that the museum is organised as going from the past to the future, as you travel from the right to the left. The museum is also home to quite a few National Treasures of Korea, which you will definitely notice as you go through it. Even better is the fact that the museum offers many educational programmes in all the fields it covers.
