Shanghai Tower is China's tallest standing structure, and the world's second tallest, soaring into the skies at a height of 632 metres. Only the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is taller than the Shanghai Tower. This staggering and imposing tower sits in Lujiazui in Pudong. It's construction was completed in 2015, though it is not fully open to the public yet. The public have access to the building's elevator system, which truth be told in itself is a state of the art system in a building with 128 floors. When exactly the building will open to the public is not yet known. Currently it has been overdue by just over a year. Even then, you just have to see the Shanghai Tower. The Shanghai World Financial Centre is the fourth highest structure in all of China and 9th tallest anywhere in the world. The Financial Centre's tower consists of a 101 floors above ground. These floors serve various purposes. With more than 70 of these floors dedicated to office spaces of some of the biggest multinational corporations of the world, the first 5 floors, including two in the basement, are maintained as shopping malls. The Park Hyatt Hotel is located at a dizzying height, covering 14 floors between the 79th and the 93rd. And above that are the observation levels, above and below the aperture at the top of the tower, with the highest observation deck maxing out at a mind boggling height of 474 metres on the 100th floor of the building! Despite it's humongous size, the tower is still made with a brilliant structural integrity. The Bund is an iconic waterfront area of Shanghai. It is the most popular tourist attraction of the city. The Bund stretches for about 1 and a half kilometres along the Huangpu river. This waterfront for long has been considered the symbol of Shanghai. Several spectacular buildings of Western architecture run along the length of the Bund. These were built when the Britishers settled in the area in many styles like the Baroque, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Classicism. There are a total of 52 of these buildings, which today serve as offices of many MNCs, banks, government offices, hotels and even flag ship stores for international luxury brands. Yuyuan Garden

The Yuyuan Garden, or simply the Yu Garden, is a 5 acre space of absolute beauty, history and serenity in Shanghai. The Yu Garden is historic in every right. It was built back in the 16th century by the Ming Dynasty. Over the years, it has seen lots of ups and downs, but after a 5 year renovation project between 1956 to 1961, the Garden opened as one of Shanghai's prime destinations. There are many points of interest laid out throughout the garden. Indeed, the way it's engineered with pavillians, pillars, ponds, rockeries and halls makes it quite a sight to behold. The 12 metre high rockery in the Sansui Hall is one of the largest rockeries in China and from the top provides a lovely panoramic view of the entire garden. The prime attraction of the garden is the 3.3m, 5 ton jade stone, which has many holes in it. Other areas which provide picturesque views are the Dianchun Hall, Huijung Hall, Wanhua Hall, Yuhua Hall which still holds rosewood furniture from the times of the Ming Dynasty and the Inner Garden. The last of these was initially built separately, but was later incoporated into the garden. It's adorned with it's own ponds, rockeries and pavillions. Read More
