Temples in Shivagange
Shivagange Hillock appears to look like a Shiva Linga from the distance. It houses five temples. At the entrance, you're greeted by a life size statue of Lord Ganesha and the Gagadeshwar Temple (Shiva Temple) is located a few steps above it.
An astonishing feat to witness here is that when you pour 'ghee' on the 'Shiva Linga' the ghee instantly turns to butter. The next stop is the Olakal Theertha where a water spring can be found. One has to go into the small opening to touch the water. It is believed that only those with a good or pious nature are able to reach the water. It is also said that if one manages to touch the water then he/she is free from all sins. After this, you reach the top of the hill, where two Nandi (Holy Bull) are carved out of a monolithic stone, placed on the two remote tips of the hills. It is a difficult and risky climb but the view from the peak is magnificent. On the way down, there's another small temple called the Paathale Gange.

Trekking in Shivagange
A collection of solid rock structures, Shivagange offers climbers an exciting and tough trek. Being a rocky hill, the climb is difficult but thanks to the railings put up all along the way it becomes significantly safer.
Every half a kilometer, there's a food stall so that you can take an energy break from the tedious climb. There are also temples at regular intervals that provide for good photo ops. There are also man made steps connecting the temples. The last leg of the climb is the toughest as the hill becomes steeper. The topmost point of the hill has a Nandi (Holy Bull) craved from a single monolithic stone. The climb here is risky but is worth the effort for the view from the top is breathtaking
