Helix Bridge
Connecting Marina Central to Marina South in the Marina Bay area of Singapore lays the gorgeous Helix Bridge. Popularly known as "The Helix", it is a pedestrian bridge linking the city's existing CBD area with the newly developed Bayfront district. The stunning edifice shines dazzlingly at night by ribbons of LED lighting, turning it into a popular tourist attraction.
The design of this beautiful piece of architecture is built upon the double helix structure modelled on the structure of the DNA because of which it was also previously called the "Double Helix Bridge". Made of a special duplex stainless steel, this 280-metre long bridge has the ability to support up to 16000 people at once. The magnificent bridge is about three storeys tall, with 2250 metre-long steel tubes which make up its structure. Situated near the Benjamin Shares Bridge, the Helix forms a curve near the Youth Olympic Park, Gardens by the Bay, and the Bayfront Bridge and is encompassed by attractions like the Esplanade Theatre and the Singapore Flyer on one side, and the ArtScience Museum and the grand Marina Bay Sands Resort across the bridge.

Standing at the height of thirty-six metres above Henderson Road, the Henderson Waves Bridge is the highest pedestrian bridge of Singapore. Take a walk along this engineering marvel to relish a panoramic view of Singapore skyline and the lush greenery enveloping the bridge. It is illuminated with bright, psychedelic lights till 2.00 AM, rendering a different charm altogether.
With a length of 274 metres and a width of 8 metres, this stunning piece of architecture connects the lush Telok Blangah Hill Park with the sprawling Mount Faber Park. The extraordinary feature that makes the splendid Henderson Waves Bridge stand out are its seven undulating curved ribs which form an artistic wave-like structure and seem to flow above and below the deck in the form of alternative crests and troughs. These decks, which weave through the steel curves, are made of the indigenous yellow balau timber, and not only do they enhance the appearance of the bridge but also double as shelters with seats made of timber within them.

Hong San See Temple
Situated at the Mohamed Sultan Road in the river valley region within the central area, Hong San See is a Chinese temple dedicated to Guang Ze Zun Wang, the Chinese God of Fortune. Hong San See, meaning 'Temple on Phoenix Hill', is built on a slightly elevated ground. The temple is beautifully preserved and is an epitome of Southern-Chinese temple architecture, making it worth visiting while in the area.
Hong San See Temple is adorned with beautiful inscriptions and carvings of dancing dragons. Earlier, the sea could be viewed from its premises, but now all that can be seen is only concrete. It was gazetted as a national monument in 1978, following which the shrine went through an extensive renovation process from 2006 to 2010. As a result of restoration and preservation, the Hong San See temple was the first in Singapore to bag the Award of Excellence in 2010 by the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
