Agios Riginos Monastery
Agios Riginos Monastery is located 4 km South West of Skopelos Town. The Monastery was built in 1728 in the shape of the tomb of Agios Riginos, the Patron of the island, and was later refurbished in 1960. The monastery has cells on the northern side, a fountain, and a small gift shop. Celebrations happen every year on February 25th on the monastery when thousands of pilgrims attend from nearby islands. Daily buses are running to the monastery from the port.

Amarandos Cove
Amarandos Cove is a wild beach, located near Agnontas harbour. It is famous as the 3 trees location in Mamma Mia. The coastline consists of rocky coves, and the waters are almost always calm, which makes it ideal for swimming and snorkelling. A small cape which extends into the sea, and is connected to the beach via a canal, is the main attraction of the beach.
It is an unorthodox beach and does not have any amenities like beach beds, umbrellas or tavernas. There are no direct buses to the beach, and the parking is about 100 m away.

Skopelos, with its turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea and its sand and pebble beaches, is a popular destination for boating. Visitors with boats can cruise around the island and make a trip to Alonissos island to the west or Skiathos island to the east. Evangelistria Monastery Skopelos
The Monastery of Evangelistria is located about 3.5 km east of Skopelos Town, on the hillside of Mount Palouki. The monastery was built in 1712 and is one of the first post-Byzantine era monuments in Skopelos. The architecture of the monastery resembles a fortress and the main attraction is the iconostasis built in Constantinople.There is an excellent view of the town and the Aegean sea from the monastery.
The monastery contains many important icons from Byzantine and post-Byzantine times. The inner courtyard has a roofed fountain and a small exhibition of various objects. Mini-buses run from the town to the monastery and are also accessible by cars or ATVs.Since the roads are washed away, it could be a bit difficult to climb during rain. There are a few nuns and priests left at the monastery, so it is advisable to dress modestly.

Glossa Town
Glossa village or High Village is located on a hill 300 m from the Loutraki Port in Northwestern Skopelos. Glossa is the second-largest settlement on the island. The location of the village provides a stunning view of the Aegean Sea and the port, which gives it the name - the Balcony of the Aegean. The village has narrow streets with very low traffic and a few bars and restaurants.
The Folklore Museum which portrays the history and culture of Glossa is a worthwhile visit. The Monastery of Agios Taxiarchis is another popular attraction. Regular buses run from Skopelos town to Glossa. It can also be accessed via a ferry from nearby islands.

Hovolo Beach
Hovolo Beach is located in the village of Neo Klima, about 14 km from the town. It is a white rock and sand beach, and is secluded from the rest of the bay area. The beach does not have any beach bars or restaurants. Beach beds and umbrellas are also not available. The beach is close to Kastani beach, but the way to get there could be slippery during rains and may require a bit of wading. The waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling but you need to carry your own equipment or rent it from Elios nearby.

Kastani Beach or Mamma Mia Beach is a white sandy beach famous for its feature in the American musical Mamma Mia. There are paid beach beds and umbrellas throughout the beach. There are also many restaurants and bars serving locally sourced seafood, though the prices are a bit on the higher side. The beach is also popular for snorkelling and surfing. Loud music usually plays full-time on the beach.
The beach can get crowded during peak season as several cruise ships bring people for short stays.

Limnonari Beach is located about 10 km from Skopelos town. It is a white sandy beach which has two tavernas and a few beach beds. The calcium shelf in the shallow waters makes this beach special, but could also become slippery and deter swimming. Parking space is available near the beach. The beach also has a few water sports facilities like snorkeling.
Mamma Mia Boat Tour
Several cruise packages offer boat tours through the locations where the popular Hollywood movie Mamma Mia was shot in Skopelos. The first stop is near the Mamma Mia Church. You can choose to stay on the beach or walk up to the church. The next stop is Skopelos Town, where guests can engage in shopping. The tour also has stops at other beaches in Skopelos. Food and drinks are provided on deck and included with the package.
