Akkana Basadi Temple

Featuring the Hoysala architectural style, this temple was built by Achiakka in 1121 AD using soapstone. This temple is dedicated to Parshwanatha with an idol 5 feet high. The Basadi was built by Achala Devi who was a devout Jain.

Built in 1126 by Hulla, the treasurer of the Hoysala kings, this temple is the largest in Sravanabelagola with it measuring 155 ft x 232 ft. The multiple intricate carvings and idols here are impressive amidst the other structures built that portray simple styles of architecture. The Car Festival here is celebrated every March/April and this is one of the best times to visit the temple.

The most famous Jain shrine in Sravanabelagola, this temple atop the Chandragiri Hills, was built by Chamundaraya using the best quality granite stone. The view of this temple is beautiful. There are many beautiful Basadis on this hilltop. The only Hindu temple in Sravanabelagola, it is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Multiple shrines dedicated to various other Hindu Gods and Goddesses can be seen in the vicinity of this temple, within the complex.

Also known as the Odegala Basadi, this temple is situated in the Vindhyagiri Hills and is dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras Neminatha, Shantinatha and Adinatha. One would have to climb 572 steps to reach this beautiful temple.
