The Char Chinar is best explored during a shikara ride in the Dal Lake. The Dal Lake houses 3 islands, 2 of which are surrounded by the chinar trees. Apart from the Char Chinar, one island is located on the Bod Dal and is known as Roph Lank or Silver Island. Charar-i-Sharif is a Muslim shrine dedicated to Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-din Wali, situated around 30 kms from Srinagar and built around 600 years ago. Sheikh Wali was the first person to preach Rishism in the valley and propagated non-violence, vegetarianism, communal harmony and tolerance. His remains were buried at this shrine and ever since it holds significant religious importance.

Chashme Shahi is one of the three Mughal gardens in Srinagar, located in the Zabarwan range overlooking the Dal Lake. Also known as Chashma-i-Shahi, it was built 1632 AD by Ali Marda Khan on the orders of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his eldest son Dara Shikoh. Chashme Shahi Garden is famous for its natural spring known as Rupa Bhawani. It remains open for tourists from March to November. Translating to the Royal Spring, Chashme Shahi is a terraced garden dotted with walkways, colourful plants and pools of water. Exhibiting exquisite Mughal architecture, the Chashme Shahi garden is influenced by the Persian gardens. It is built around a freshwater spring that was unearthed by Rupa Bhawani, a renowned female Kashmiri saint. Situated right out the Hari Parbat's southern gate in Srinagar, Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara is the most important and probably the largest Sikh gurudwara in all of Kashmir valley. The shrine has a sanctum sanctorum in middle of a large rectangular hall. It also has accomodation facilities and langar food is offered to all visitors every day of the year.
