Bimmah Sinkhole

The stunning sinkhole is a popular attraction among tourists due to its clear waters and beautiful limestone! There are stairs made of concrete that will take you to the bottom of the sinkhole. A perfect place for a quick swim and beautiful pictures! The emerald colored waters will truly take your breath away!
Wadi Shab Hike
This self-guided hike will take you through the gorgeous Wadi to the stunning hidden cave in the middle of the trek! Inside the cave, there is an elegant waterfall ending in a picturesque turquoise pool. To reach the cave, you will have to swim a little bit, but a perfect dip in the pool is exactly what you'll want after a long 40-minute hike! Don't forget to wear sneakers with good grips and pack swim gear!
Wadi Tiwi
Emerald coloured pools surrounded with beautiful banana plantations and date palms, Wadi Tiwi is not as famous as Wadi Shab but just as beautiful as the rest. For all of the adventurous folk out there, you can go on a 2-day hike from the wadi to some less explored parts of the region. Carry your own equipment and snacks when visiting Wadi Tiwi as there are no shops in the vicinity as Muscat is the closest city and it is 160 kms away.
A popular trek with a medium difficulty level, wade through the gorges to reach the beautiful Mibam Waterfalls. Camping is also a common activity here with the White Beach Campi Site. The difficulty level of the camping is medium as it is relatively easier than Wadi Shab and Wadi Bani Khalid.

Al Ayjah Fort
The Al Ayjah fort was built along with the merchant houses surrounding its perimeters. These houses have beautifully carved doors and lotus pillared porches. The architecture of the fort is plain and well maintained and has a uniform square structure as most of the other forts in the region.
Bilad Sur Castle
Reputed as one of the must-visit places in Sur, the Bilad Sur Castle is situated at the central part of the Bilad Sur Plain in Oman. Its architectural splendour deems it one of the grandest bastions of Wilayat. Initially built to defend the town against the marauder tribes, these towers offer a spectacular view of the surrounding areas. Today, the dignified Bilad Sur Castle also houses a museum, where visitors can get a deeper insight into its rich historical significance.

Dhow Factory
Sur is one of the most significant as well as historic sites in Arabia that is famous for building wooden boats. Dhow, in Arabic, literally translates to ‘boat. Situated to the south of the Khor Al Batah suspension bridge, this museum is steeped in rich historical significance. It is also a museum which showcases different sections, with the dignified Wilayat emblem ‘Al Ghanja Ship’ adorning the entrance. A walk through the great factory can give one a fascinating opportunity to look into how wooden boats were made in earlier times.
Displaying Omani ships, along with photographs of sailors, makers of ships, ports, and of Sur itself, the Maritime Museum also holds a section for tableware and pottery. Since the museum is not very large, it should not take more than an hour to explore this beautiful place and immerse in its rich heritage and history.

Fatah Al Khair
Fatah Al Khair is the name of a ship which is currently a part of an open-air museum which is dedicated to the shipbuilding lineage of the city of Sur in Oman. Built over 70 years ago, the wooden fishing vessel of Fateh Al Khair has strong historical significance to it. It was brought back to Yemen, restored and grounded on dry land. The ship is said to be hand-built without any nails, and hand-woven ropes were used to shore up. Visitors are not permitted to climb up the dhow but can get up close to look at the flanks. Fatah Al Khair is located in Al Qanjah Boat Yard within the Sur Maritime Museum.

Old Town is an ancient abandoned town in the Al Ayjah area in Sur. Filled with culture, history and nature, it is surrounded by narrow streets, old dilapidated houses and structures. So for those who want to go down the memory lane in this beautiful city, they are most welcome to visit the Old Town anytime they wish to.
The Old Town stands out from the rest of the city because of its wooden carvings on doors, old merchant houses that are painted grey and other ancient houses that are now frozen in time. Visitors are recommended to take this journey into the Old Town by foot so that they can get a better experience and are also allowed inside some houses and structures in Old Tow.
