Located on the Taman Aspari Street, the Joko Dolog is a Buddhist statue known to be almost 900 years old. The statue has some inscriptions on its side which are in Sanskrit providing some evidence of the past events. The walls and the gate here are of historical value too. Additionally, some authentic local street food can be found around the corner to alleviate those hunger pangs that strike after you visit the statue. Believed to be built around the year 1289 to mark the funeral of King Kertanagara, the statue was transported to Surabaya around 300 years ago.
