Candi Sukuh
Candi Sukuh is located on the slopes of Mt. Lawu in Indonesia on the borders of Central and East Java provinces . It is a 15th century old Javanese-Hindu temple where Candi in Indonesia means temple. It is also known to be an erotic temple where the entrance is marked by a large lingam(phallus) and yoni, the cravings and art on the temple is unique are almost all erotic portraits and makes this different from other Javanese temple and is believed by the locals that it was a pre-Hindu place of worship during that era.
The temple is beautiful, isolated and the surroundings are full of greeneries. Even though many parts of the temple are destroyed by natural causes, the government was able to preserve most of the temple. Some lingams were moved to a museum but many of the cravings are still there. It is a must visit site.
The temple is opened early in the morning till afternoon and all days for tourists. Though it is less crowded due to its location, you can have a relaxing time in the temple and learn about its history. Sarongs are required to visit this temple and you can easily rent one at the entrance by paying a small donation. As it is situated around 2,900 ft above sea level, so the weather condition at the site can be cold or rainy.

Kraton Surakarta
Established in 1745, Kraton is a symbol of an empires bygone era. Located in Surakarta city, Central Java, Indonesia this place now acts as a museum and is a must visit site. It is said that when Sultan Pakubuwono II moved from Kartosuro to Solo in 1745 the procession took a day in removal of the kings belongings. Although many parts of the building was destroyed in the year in 1985 after a fire breakout, the place is now restored and is still inhabited by Sultan of Sunan, Sultan of Sulakarta and his family members. Many of the old relics still remain.
The museum looks beautiful with its architecture and antiques and can be enjoyed by both children and adults. The blue and white color looks vibrant and relaxing. Here one can learn about the heritage, culture and history of Surakarta. You can also witness some of the old carriages, guns and cooking items used by the kings of the old empires during their reign. The museum is free for public and you can also hire a tour guide for proper understanding of language and old relics.

Mesjid Agung, Surakarta
Located on street no. 1 Kauman, Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia, it is a royal 18th century mosque of the Aurakata Sunanate. The mosque was built by Sunan Pakubuwono III in the year 1768. It was a holy and spiritual place built for both friday mosques and for the traditions and rituals conducted by the royal family. The mosque is still in use and has a religious significance for the local people.
The mosque is spread over a large area 19,180 sqm and is bordered by solid walls. The mosque has two halls: one in the front and the other is dedicated to prayers only. The design, art and architecture represent the conservative Javanese tradition. The roof is shaped as a pyramid in tanjung style, which represents it to be a traditional sacred building. The roof of the mosque is three tiered with an mustaka (ornament) on top.

Pasar Gede is an iconic market located in Surakarta, Indonesia. It is considered to be one of the biggest markets in Solo. Reconstructed in the year 2016, it is basically inherited from the Netherlands government so named as Pasar Gede Horjonagoro. The market consists of everything: right form objects of daily needs to specialized products that are exclusive to the marketplace. Pasar Triwindu
Pasar Triwindu was founded in the year 1939 as a symbol of KGPAA Mangkunegara 7 the 24th ascending the throne. It is basically a flea market with huge variety of antiques. It is located at Diponogere Street, Surakarta, Indonesia. The market is spread over a huge landscapes over 2,384 square metres with two storied building where multiple vendors with different stalls selling their huge collections of souvenirs and antiques for example flower vases, Chinese ceramics, European statues, wooden sculptures artworks and many more.
The antiques are almost over 50 years old and are in good condition. The prices of the items can vary but are highly negotiable; so do negotiate. Its better you take your local guide or a local guy to the market to diminish language communication barrier. Eliminating the language barrier might get the things at a way cheaper price. There are over 200 vendors selling items so do check few of them before buying.
If you are travelling by car or bike no need to worry as there is plenty of space available and after all the shopping in case you get hungry, there are food stalls available on the streets. People here frequent these stalls to try some local and traditional meals. It is recommended to visit the market early as possible as it might get crowded, making parking another issue.

Sangiran
An amazing place full of excitement and exploration, situated 15 kilometres to the North of a city called Solo in central province Java Indonesia near Gemoro river bank. Taman Sriwedari
Taman sriwedari is a cultural and historical place where you can get the feel of the recreational activities that the sultans of the region indulged themselves in. This garden has an amusement park and a theatre. This is a park where you get to see one of the oldest shadow puppet shows, locally called the Wayang Orang.
