St. Peter's Monastery

St. Peter’s Monastery is a Franciscan church located in the historical part of Jaffa in Tel Aviv. Dedicated to Saint Peter, it was built in the 19th century over the ruins of a Crusader citadel and is a magnificent edifice built out of bricks. It is known for its tall bell tower and a cross at the top that rests on a rock. St. Peter's Church has impressive interiors that resemble European cathedrals. Inside is a beautiful stained glass, a high vaulted ceiling, marble walls and columns, and four panels depicting several notable events in the life of Saint Peter. There are windows that also depict scenes such as the Immaculate Conception, Tabitha, Spanish Saints and more. It has a wooden pulpit carved in the shape of a fruiting tree and a 13th-century remains of St. Louis' citadel where Napoleon Bonaparte is said to have stayed. Home to various Israeli and international contemporary art, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art is situated within The Golda Meir Cultural and Art Center on Shaul Hamelech Boulevard. It is the country’s first art museum known for its paintings, architecture, photography, video, print, sculpture, design and more exhibits. There are numerous Israeli artworks on different artistic movements from the mid-19th century to the present day, including Resting at Noon by Nahum Gutman, Life in the Kibbutz by Yosef Zaritsky and Requiem to a Bird by Aviva Uri. In addition, one would find about 150 European artworks from the 16th and 19th centuries. The museum also houses about 4,000 photographs, displays featuring jewellery, ceramics, industrial designs and textiles, 27 American artworks from the 1950s and over 25,000 artworks on paper (print and design). The sculptures are exhibited in the entrance plaza and an internal sculpture garden. Tell Qasile

Tell Qasile is an archaeological site on the Yarkon river in Tel Aviv. Located within the Eretz Israel Museum, it was the first site to be excavated by the newly proclaimed state of Israel. The important excavations include three temples and a residential quarter. The temples were constructed on top of one another, and many vessels were unearthed in the storage facilities. These include a cylindrical cultic stand, libation vessels and pottery stands. The area's south side also reveals workshops and storehouses and a large courtyard from the Abbasid era, founded in the 1980s. A former port city founded by the 12th century Philistines, the site provides the historical material significance of the culture of the Philistines. It is set atop a hill and is home to an official national archive, education department and a museum. Known as the Israeli Museum, it is the only museum in Israel that provides details of the development of the State as a young democracy. Apart from shedding light on these historical events, it also hosts exhibits in memory of the life of Yitzhak Rabin.
