Tokyo National Museum
The oldest of the national museums in Japan, the Tokyo National Museum is a sight to behold for the cultural history buffs.
Originally established in 1972, this museum has the largest collection of items of national and historic importance in Japan. It is one of the most beautifully built and streamlined museums- comprising six large buildings, each displaying a different kind of archeological age. Apart from the permanent display, temporary exhibitions are also held in the museum. Just outside the museum stands the Kuroda Memorial Hall that displays the paintings of JapanÍs most famous modern artist, Kuroda Seiki. Additionally, the Tokyo National Museum also has a Japanese-style garden and teahouses (where tea ceremonies are held) which are open during the spring and the autumn, and caf_s and shops strewn across the grounds. Tokyo Royal Palace
The imperial residence of the emperor of Japan and the empress.
The royal residence of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, the Imperial Palace is the site of the Edo-jo, or the old palace of the Tokugawa Shogunate that ruled Japan. The imperial buildings and inner gardens are open only the public on January 2nd (New YearsÍ Greetings) and December 23rd (The EmperorÍs birthday) annually. Tours which are conducted through the year (lasting one hour and fifteen minutes) should be booked on the Imperial Household AgencyÍs website as early as possible (preferably 15-20 days before). Imperial East Gardens with their scenic beauty and the outer compounds are open to the public.

Tokyo Sky Tree
At a towering height of 634 m, it is the tallest tower in Japan.
One of JapanÍs newest attractions, the Tokyo Sky Tree is a mesmerising feat of engineering during the day, and an illuminated marvel at night. It serves as the primary radio and television broadcasting site for the Kanto region, and has two viewing galleries- the Tempo Observation Deck and the Tempo Gallery, through which the stunning Tokyo skyline can be seen. Tokyo is best viewed at night from the galleries, for the city comes to life. A large shopping centre and an aquarium are located at its base.

Tsukiji Market is the busiest wholesale market in Japan, located in Central Tokyo, for fresh fruits, vegetables, and specially- every kind of seafood.
The main attraction of the Tsukiji Market is the sight of fresh produce and the atmosphere of fast business, with a tuna auction and the activity of the wholesale producers. The market is divided into an inner and outer part, and tourists are mostly encouraged to explore the outer market, where they are less likely to interfere with business. There are certain rules to be followed before entering the market, which include not touching any produce, not bringing small children or wearing heels and uncomfortable shoes. Tourists may conclude the visit with freshly made sushi and sashimi for breakfast or lunch, with the high quality produce found at Tsukiji.
