Petulu
Known as the Heron Village of Indonesia, Petulu attracts throusands of tourists every year for heron-watching. Visit this quaint village to enjoy the sun set over the paddy fields as you wait for the birds to fly back home.
Make sure you visit the village of Petulu to watch thousands of herons fly over from Bali at sunset. During the peak period, between 17:00 - 18:00, 20,000 herons can be seen hovering above the ground and resting on tree branches. Go to the south of the village, there is a look-out point ideal for bird watching.

The Ayung River is Bali’s longest river stretching for around 75 kilometers. Ubud Water Palace, Saraswati Temple
Ubud Water Palace, a temple for the worship of Lord Saraswati, was originally the residential palace of the Sukawati royal family of Ubud. It is now one of the most sacred places in Bali, and apart from offering a beautiful lotus pond and water garden, the temple hosts a classic Bali dance show at night.
It was designed by famous architect Gusti Nyoman Lempad, who followed the rules of Tri Mandala spatial distribution while designing the palace. Tri means three and Mandala means spaces, thus, the temple complex is divided into three areas, namely Nista Mandala which is the zone that connects the temple to the outer world, i.e the entrance of the water palace. Madya Mandala is the middle realm that leads to the inner layers of the sacred temple and is marked with three red-bricked Kori Agung gates. The third gate is the largest and leads to the most sacred space.
