Overview of Jag Mandir Palace, Udaipur, Rajasthan

Jag Mandir Palace, situated in the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan, India, is a stunning architectural marvel located on the southern island of Lake Pichola. This grand palace is also known as the 'Lake Garden Palace.' Its construction is credited to three Maharanas of the Mewar Kingdom, with the initial work started by Maharana Amar Singh in 1551, continued by Maharana Karan Singh (1620–1628), and finally completed by Maharana Jagat Singh I (1628–1652). Jag Mandir Palace has served as a refuge to royals and dignitaries, including the Mughal prince Khurram (later Emperor Shah Jahan), who was inspired by its architecture to create the Taj Mahal.
