Uluru - Kata Tjuta is a birdwatcher's paradise, with sightings of almost 180 birds recorded to date!
The park is home to a huge variety of species of birds as stated above (almost 180!), and these come from various nearby and far off places. Some of the birds you can spot here are the beautifully coloured 'grey-headed honeyeater' and the 'splendid fairy-wren', the exotic looking 'Major Mitchell's cockatoo', and the green and yellow 'Australian ringneck parrot', among several others.
The best time for birdwatching is early in the morning, and silence and patience are two indispensible vitues in this endeavour!
