The shipwreck has become a landmark for the island and is the top tourist attraction. The now rustic freighter stands on the white pebbled beach against a scenic backdrop of vertical limestone cliffs and mesmerising turquoise waters. Visitors from around the world visit the site to take photographs of the wreck and swim in the Ionian waters. The coved beach also has two viewpoints for a beautiful aerial view of the shipwreck and the surrounding beach. The beach is accessible via boats or water taxis, while the viewing points can be reached by road. The Panagiotis Boat Shipwreck took place in the 1980s. Solomos Square

Solomos Square is the central square in the capital city, located just on the Zakynthos port on the island's east coast. The public square is a popular cultural spot for tourists and locals alike. It is home to some of the town’s most notable structures, including the cultural centre, which incorporates the municipal library, a cinema, and a small art gallery. Statues of poets and historical personalities, such as poets Dionysios Solomos, Ugo Foscolo, and Paul Karrer, are adorned around the square. Several traditional restaurants, major attractions and tourist shops are scattered throughout the square. Solomos square was named after the Zakynthonian poet Dionysios Solomos who wrote the Greek national anthem. The Agios Dionysios church, the Bochali viewing point, and the Bochali Venetian Castle are far from Solomos Square. The Byzantine Museum of Zakynthos is a must-visit for art and history enthusiasts. The famous church of Saint Nicholas, which was the only ancient church on the island to survive the 1953 earthquake, is also located here. Xigia Sulphur beach is located on the East coast of Zakynthos island in Greece. This sulphur mining beach is most popular for its crystal clear waters, which are rich in sulphuric minerals. The beach complex comprises three beaches, out of which the Northern Xigia beach is the most popular. It is widely famous for its two caves with sulphur springs. People enjoy a snorkelling session or beauty baths on the beach as sulphur has healing and therapeutic properties for the body but has a strong smell. The pebbled beach is famous for its deep waters, which take up a milky blue shade and can be as cold as 20 degrees due to its mineral richness. The Middle and Southern Xigia beaches are not easily accessible and thus are rather secluded.
